Benefits for You and Your Family
The Knight Fellowships is a transforming experience for the journalist who is awarded a fellowship — and also for their families. All features of the program — academic and social — are open to spouses and partners of Knight Fellows. Spouses and partners are eligible to attend most Stanford classes and are invited to all Knight Fellowship seminars and events. Children are welcome at a number of social events during the year.
Financial Benefits
Knight Fellows receive a stipend of $60,000, paid in 10 monthly installments during the academic year from September through June. The program also pays Stanford tuition for each fellow.
To help offset the high cost of living in the Palo Alto area, the Knight Fellowships also provides supplements for housing, child care, health insurance, moving expenses and helps pay for research/equipment and books.
